Viral Video Of Miss Supranational's Creative Director Insulting Indonesia, Here's The Chronology

JAKARTA - A video containing Miss Supranational Creative Director Andrea Sleigh insulting Indonesia has gone viral. The video that was uploaded came from Anntonia Porsild's Instagram Live 2019 Miss Supranational some time ago, where a man's voice was recorded who was later identified as Andre Sleigh, Creative Director of the Miss Supranational organization.

He uttered insulting sentences about Indonesia that sparked the anger of netizens. The Head of the Communication Department of the Puteri Indonesia Foundation Mega Angkasa said the chronology until the viral video of the Creative Director Miss Supranational insulting Indonesia spread.

"This started from the night of the Miss Supranational 2021 Grand Final which took place last August, where Jihane Almira Chedid represented Indonesia at the event.

When the Top 24 and Top 12 were selected, it turned out that Indonesia was not included in the Top 5. Some pageant lovers, the majority were not satisfied with the results and sent many direct messages (DM) to Andre as the creative director of Miss Supranational," said Mega, Tuesday, 7 September.

Mega also emphasized that the people who sent DMs to Andre did not reflect Puteri Indonesia, nor the Puteri Indonesia Foundation, or even the state.

"Comments directed directly through direct massage to Andre conveyed personal dissatisfaction to the creative director of Miss Supranational. It started from there, and continued to answer on social media. The Puteri Indonesia Foundation said that this was personal between netizens and the creative director," he continued.

According to Mega, the aftermath of answering each other continued for a long time, until finally a viral video circulated by Andre Sleigh, the Creative Director of Miss Supranational, allegedly insulting Indonesia.

Mega explained that YPI would write to the Miss Supranational organization and ask for clarification on this incident. "We sent an organizational letter from the Puteri Indonesia Foundation to the Miss Supranational Organization in a professional manner to resolve this issue and ask for clarification as to why this happened," Mega said.

In addition, representing the Puteri Indonesia Foundation, Mega also thanked the pageant lovers who had provided support. "On behalf of YPI, thank you to pageant lovers who have provided support for Indonesian women competing in international events, including how pageant lovers struggle when votes are needed, and we know exactly what their struggle is," added Mega.

Not to be missed, he also expressed his gratitude to Puteri Indonesia alumni and Miss Supranational Indonesia alumni who have remained solid in providing support so far.
