Maia Estianty Admits She Can't Escape Ahmad Dhani's Shadow

JAKARTA - Despite being divorced from Ahmad Dhani for 13 years, Maia Estianty admits that she cannot escape the shadow of her ex-husband. Even after remarrying Irwan Mussry, Maia is used to be associated with Dhani.

Maia Estianty and Ahmad Dhani were married in 1994. From this marriage, they were blessed with three children, namely Al Ghazali, El Rumi, and Dul Jaelani. After undergoing a relationship for 14 years, Maia Estianty and Ahmad Dhani decided to separate in 2008.

After the divorce, Ahmad Dhani immediately married Mulan Jameela. Meanwhile, Maia waited 10 years to remarry Irwan Mussry.

Maia said her children wanted to escape from her and Ahmad Dhani's shadow. They hope to have a career regardless of their background as the children of Maia Estianty and Ahmad Dhani.

"In the past, my children say, 'I really want to be free from the shadows of my parents. Because their shadows will stick with me,'" Maia Estianty said as quoted from the Ussy Andhika Official YouTube channel, Saturday, August 28.

Maia Estianty emphasized that the shadows will never disappear. "(I said) 'Yes, until you die, it won't come off'. What do you want? Your father is Ahmad Dhani, your mother is Maia Estianty. How do you want to be released?" said Maia Estianty, laughing.

Likewise for herself, Maia Estianty feels that she cannot escape the shadow of Ahmad Dhani. "It's the same, it will never go away," said Maia Estianty.
