Ministry Of Tourism Reveals Food Exhibition Becomes Indonesia's Culinary Opportunity To Be More Global

JAKARTA - In recent years, Indonesian culinary has become increasingly popular in the eyes of the world. Like rendang which was named one of the best foods in the world according to the 2023 MusteAtlas Awards, followed by fried rice and satay which is included in the list of the world's best dishes.

The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism said that the increasing interest of Indonesian culinary in the international market was very helpful for the country's tourism sector. This was conveyed by the Deputy Minister of Tourism of Indonesia, Ni Luh Puspa.

"The world's interest in Indonesian food is currently increasing and this has a good impact on tourism," said Ni Luh Puspa, at the 2025 SIAL InterFOOD Opening Ceremony at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

Ni Luh said that through special foods, apart from conveying the taste of Indonesia, it can also introduce the history and stories of the nation.

"Through food, we not only convey our taste, but also history and stories. Our vision is that not only the world can taste Indonesian food, but also feel the warmth and stories," he explained.

To achieve this goal, efforts and collaborations for the sake of typical Indonesian culinary are increasingly global. One of them is with a food exhibition.

Such as the SIAL InterFOOD 2025 exhibition which will officially be held from 12-15 November 2025 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. This is the largest exhibition for the food and beverage sector in Southeast Asia.

"We see SIAL InterFOOD as a platform to promote (Indonesian food). We are committed to supporting it," continued Ni Luh Puspa.

The exhibition, organized by the Krista Exhibitions, features a variety of innovations, inspirations, and the latest business opportunities in the food, beverage, boga services, hotels, restaurants, cafes, and bowls sectors.

Not only that, but there is also a La Cuisine Competition competition that presents more than a thousand participants from 8 countries to show their best abilities through various cooking and baking demonstrations.

There is also the ICAB SIROC Competition 2025, a prestigious competition for Indonesian coffee barsita and professionals. This competition is a forum to showcase expertise, creativity, and dedication in the arts of mixing coffee, both through manual beard techniques and modern presentation innovations.
