Umi Pipik Experiences Fraud Under The Guise Of Donations To Palestine, This Is The Mode

JAKARTA - The rise of fundraising for Palestine is being used by con artists for personal gain. They are looking for loopholes by exploiting the negligence of fundraisers, one of which is Umi Pipik.

The wife of the late Ustaz Jefri Al Buchori actually experienced fraud from an unknown person. The owner of the full name Pipik Dian Irawati shared the mode of fraud he experienced. She uploaded a screenshot of the conversation with the con artist on his verified Instagram account @_ummi_pipik_ on May 17, 2021.

"O Allah, ya Rabb, how come there are still those who want to cheat ... I have checked the account mutation and no one has transferred this nominal, hopefully, those who have the intention to cheat realize that this is money for humanity even though this is the money of the people for the brothers and sisters in Palestine, please all be careful with this fraud ..", wrote Umi Pipik in the statement column.

Judging from the screenshot uploaded by Umi Pipik, the scam started with a fraudster who contacted her because she had transferred some money. The con man admitted that he intended to deposit IDR 500 thousand to be donated as aid to Palestine.

Apparently, the fraudster argued that he had excess transfer money up to a nominal value of IDR 5.5 million. So the fraudster will ask for a back transfer of IDR 5 million.

Not immediately believing it, Umi Pipik then verified the account sent by the fraudster. As a result, she found no transfer evidence like the one sent by the fraudster.

"I have checked the account mutation and no one has transferred this nominal amount", said Umi Pipik.

Umi Pipik shared the experience of this fraud mode so that it would go viral and be alert to other fundraisers. "Sorry I have to share because I'm afraid he will try to do the same thing to others.. the WhatsApp number has been saved by my admin ... Sorry again", she wrote.

In another upload, Umi Pipik is grateful that many of her followers are willing to donate to Palestine. Wednesday, May 19, Umi Pipik gave an update on the fundraising she was doing.

"I have submitted the mandate for the first batch of Rp130,396,744.68, thank God, it means that the total donations for the 1st and 2nd flight groups have reached IDR 244,975,461.68, Barakallahu Fiikum for everything", wrote Umi Pipik.
