Ben Stiller: It's More Difficult To Play Comedy Now

JAKARTA - Careers for decades have kept Ben Stiller finding difficulties, one of which is playing in the comedy field. As one of the popular actors in the genre, he sees challenges in comedying in today's era.

We live in a world where taking chances with comedy is more challenging. We can see that (comedy genre) in our country," Ben Stiller quoted Radio Times as saying.

"But I think it's more important for comedians to keep doing what they do, speak the truth and be free to say what they want to say. That's the most important thing," he continued.

Because of this difficulty, the director of the Severance series is grateful for the existence of platforms such as TikTok that make creativity and comedy content always exist.

You guys have something that makes the audience react faster. I think we've reduced our attention range a little bit. I feel lucky to be able to grow in the analog world," Stiller said.

"Of course, in this environment, comedy is difficult to do. Not even on the scale we've ever made, in terms of the business economy," said Ben Stiller.

Ben Stiller is known for several comedy projects such as Tropic Thunder, Zoolander, Meet The Parents, Night at the Museum and others. He also directed two seasons of the Severance series that combine satirical comedy.

This year, he starred in a sequel to his hit comedy film, Happy Gilmore 2. He is also preparing Focker in Law and The Dink.
