James Gunn Leaks Superman's Sequel Plot, Filming April 2026

JAKARTA - Director James Gunn revealed a little from the sequel to Superman's film, entitled Man of Tomorrow. He told that this film will highlight the continuation of Superman's relationship and Lex Total.

"The story is about Lex total and Superman working together at a certain level for a bigger threat," James Gunn said on the Howard Stern radio show.

This is more complex but this is the big part. Lex's kind of film is the same as Superman's. I love working with Nicholas Hoult. I can connect with Lex's character, unfortunately," he continued.

James Gunn really likes the script because the story will make the audience interested in the development of Lex Total, played by Nicholas Hoult.

I really wanted to do something amazing with the two of them. I really love the script," said James Gunn.

Superman's film has successfully marked a new era in DC under the leadership of James Gunn which will continue with the second season of Peacemaker. In addition, Gunn also confirmed that the Supergirl film played by Millie Alcock is also in the development process.

In his version, David Corenswet plays Superman as well as Nicholas Hoult as Lex Total. Both are confirmed to return to play the character for the sequel.

Gunn announced the news by uploading Superman graphics standing next to Lex total in his war costumes that referenced his second plot. Gunn also directed and wrote the sequel.

Superman: Man of Tomorrow will start production in April 2026 and will hit theaters on July 9, 2027.
