Gene Hackman And Wife Found Dead At Home

JAKARTA - Actor Gene Hackman and his wife, pianist totaling Arakawa, were found dead at their Santa Fe residence on Wednesday, February 26. According to Variety, the Santa Fe police confirmed that both of them had died.

So far there has been no indication of a criminal act, but the authorities did not give the cause of death. The two were found dead with their pet dog.

"What I can say is that we are investigating the early stages of death, awaiting a search permit," said Adan Mendoza of the Santa Fe Sheriff's Office.

"I want to ensure the community and the environment that there is no danger to anyone," he continued.

Gene Hackman is one of the legendary actors known for his acting. Born on January 30, 1930, Hackman had worked as a member of the military and served in the United States Marine Corps.

He just started his career as an actor in 1956 after joining Pasadena Playhouse where he met Dustin Hoffman. The two migrated to New York to pursue a career in Hollywood with a wider market.

Gene Hackman won two Oscars, two British Academy Film Awards, and four Golden Globes awards. His role in the film The French Connection in 1971 led him to the Best Actor.

He last acted in the film Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut as Lex Total.

Hackman married twice. He first married Faye Maltese and was blessed with three children until he decided to divorce in 1986.

In 1961, Gene Hackman married pianist totaling Arakawa and shared a house in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Gene Hackman died at the age of 95, while Arakawa died at the age of 63.
