Colman Domingo Denies Replacing Jonathan Majors For Kang's Role In MCU

JAKARTA - Actor Colman Domingo responded to rumors that he would replace Jonathan Majors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and play Kang the Conqueror. This rumor is increasingly circulating after the MCU announced several of its newest projects.

This news is also circulating on the internet and social media, making Domingo meet with Marvel Studios to find out if the rumors were true.

"I think there was a conversation about me coming to Marvel," Colman Domingo said in the Happy Sad Confused podcast.

"So we found out with meetings with Marvel directors. We did that and we talked about the Marvel landscape and even Kang rumors," he continued.

Although interested in joining the MCU, the Sing Sing star wants to build a character that is intended especially for himself.

"But I feel like I want his role, whatever his role, whatever I build. Something I feel is lacking. Oh, I'm changing people? No, I want to build something from myself,' said Colman Domingo.

Domingo is also open if Marvel Studios invites him to discuss any roles, including replacing Kang.

"From my point of view there is no conversation, if I play Kang. I don't know if I'm being discussed, but I know I want to build something from myself," said Domingo.

Jonathan Majors left Marvel after being reported to have committed violence against his ex-girlfriend. Initially, he was projected as a central character in the film Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

Then, Marvel changed the plan by making Avengers: Doomsday and focus on Doctor Doom's character, played by Robertbor Jr.
