Not Enough With Tumbler, Gen Z Needs A Forum For Real Actions Caring For Environmental Issues

JAKARTA - Awareness to protect the environment has recently been carried out by many people. One of them is young people, especially among Generation Z or Gen Z.

Generation Z is said to have a big concern for protecting the environment for a better future. One of the things that Gen Z does is not use single-use plastic bottles to store drinking water, but uses a tumbler.

But on the other hand, in the process of protecting the environment they face limitations. Limitations in the form of activities that can be done to further have a good impact on the environment, outside only using a tumbler.

"The results of the research, it turns out that gen Z children are very concerned about their environment," said the Djarum Foundation Environmental Service Officer Program, Dandy Mahendra, in Gondoharum Village, Patiayam, Kudus, on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

"But this is indeed the container that they are sometimes confused about. They already care about starting to bring the tumbler (drinking bottle), but sometimes they are confused about what to do," he added.

With that, various parties, including the government and the private sector, must make activities related to environmental issues more often, especially for young people. One of the activities that can be held is planting trees in various regions that require greenness in Indonesia.

"That's why the forum must be given, its activities for the environment, such as tree planting activities. The interest of young friends is very large to convey messages to protect the environment. Not only can you bring crowds, but there are more actions," concluded Dandy Mahendra.
