JAKARTA - Director Chloe Zhao's Nomadland became the film that received the most awards at the 2021 BAFTA awards ceremony. Held at London's Royal Albert Hall, Nomadland bagged four trophies.
The awards are Best Picture, Best Director, Best Leading Actress, and Best Cinematography.
"Thank you to the nomadic community that welcomed us generously, who have shared their dreams, struggles, sense of dignity. Thank you for showing us that aging is a beautiful part of life, a journey that we must cherish and celebrate", Zhao said in his speech.
Previously, Nomadland won various trophies in prestigious awards such as Critics Choice and Golden Globes.
Due to the pandemic, the BAFTA awards ceremony was conducted virtually where the nominees attended the event from their respective residences.
