In Invalidite Movie, Jessica Mila Walks With A Stick

JAKARTA - Falcon Pictures re-released the first look of its latest film Invalidite. Based on the novel of the same name by Faradita, it will be played by Jessica Mila, Omar Daniel, and Jerome Kurnia. Before being adapted to the big screen, Invalidite's novel was a success on Wattpad with a readership of over 20 million.

Invalidite tells about a woman named Jelita who has flaws, who is able to melt the heart of a man named Dewa. Dewa is known as a handsome man, rich, smart, and always hurt women. However, unexpectedly, Dewa's attitude slowly began to change since meeting the figure of Pelita.

Invalidite film director, Herwin Novianto, said it was interesting to work on the film, because of the twist. "From the script, I translated, the story of the film is about imperfection. Jelita with her physical imperfections, while Dewa is not perfect with his emotions. However, the most interesting part of the story of the film, I think is the unexpected twist," he said.

The cast of Jelita, Jessica Mila admitted to having difficulty playing the character in this film. "At first it was hard, getting used to walking with a stick. Moreover, Jelita has been using sticks since childhood. So, I can't be like someone who's only been using sticks for a week. In addition, I see Jelita's figure is a patient, hardworking, and unyielding person. She lives alone with her troubled father. However, she is devoted to taking care of her father," she explained.

Jessica Mila's co-star Omar Daniel, who plays Dewa, admitted that the character he plays is very related to the current condition of society." I think personally, a lot of young people around us have the same problems as Dewa. However, they didn't realize it. Dewa really does not like everything that offends his ego. Even the smallest things he can have problems with. In fact, seeing Jelita who has physical deficiencies, he still has no mercy," he said.

Jerome Kurnia, meanwhile, stated that his character is very contrary to Gilvi's character that he played in this film." Gilvi has always tried to be the best at everything since childhood. He wants to be a perfect boy. But that doesn't mean Gilvi doesn't have a disability. For example, he did not dare to express his feelings to Jelita. If I was, I would immediately tell Jelita what is in my heart," he added.

While the author of Invalidite novels, Faradita revealed, did not expect that all this could happen. "I do not expect.. it was just imagination, now there is a real figure. There are figures of Dewa, Jelita, and Gilvi. I really didn't expect it," she concluded.
