Sri Mulyani To Meutya Hafid, 5 Women's Ministers In The Red And White Cabinet

JAKARTA - During the Joko Widodo (Jokowi) administration, it was recorded that she had the most female ministers in the work cabinet she led when compared to other Indonesian Presidents. There were nine women ministers during the Jokowi administration.

However, most recently, President Prabowo Subianto announced seven coordinating ministers (menko), 41 ministers, and five ministerial-level officials who were included in the Red and White Cabinet at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Sunday, October 20, 2024.

From the rows of ministerial names, there are five female ministers who are new hopes of women's representation as policy makers in the country.

President Prabowo again entrusted the position of Minister of Finance (Menkeu) to Sri Mulyani in the Red and White Cabinet, who first served as Minister of State for National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas during the era of President SBY).

One year later Sri Mulyani was transferred to become Minister of Finance replacing Jusuf Anwar because of the cabinet reshuffle by SBY. He remained in this position until May 2010. Then he became the Managing Director of the World Bank, became the first Indonesian to hold that position and in the third year of President Jokowi, Sri Mulyani was withdrawn to Indonesia for the position of Minister of Finance.

Sri Mulyani also won many awards during Jokowi's time, even being named three times in a row (2017-2019) as the Best Minister of Finance in Asia Pacific by Finance Asia magazine.

Arifatul Choiri Fauzi was appointed as Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) replacing I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati in the Jokowi era.

Arifatul Choiri Fauzi is the General Secretary of the Nahdlatul Ulama Muslimat Center Management (PP Muslimat NU) and is active as a member of the Information and Communication Commission of the Indonesian Ulema Council (Infokom MUI).

In addition, he served as Deputy Chair of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN) in the 2024 presidential election.

Widiyanti Putri was elected Minister of Tourism in the era of President Prabowo, replacing Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, who was Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) in the Jokowi era.

Widiyanti started her career as an entrepreneur, co-founder of PT Teladan Resources who oversees various business units in the agribusiness, energy, industry, property and media sectors.

Currently he serves as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of PT Teladan Resources, after previously holding a director position at PT Teladan Prima Agro (TPA) from 2012 to 2021, before finally being appointed as commissioner.

Rini was elected as Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) replacing Abdullah Azwar Anas. Rini is a Civil Servant (PNS) who was withdrawn to be appointed Minister of PANRB.

Rini started her career at the Ministry of PANRB as a policy analyst at the Assistant Deputy for Policy Implementation Affairs on July 2, 1997.

Furthermore, he served as Head of Sub-Division for Non-Institutional Policy Preparation in 2000, Head of Non-Institutional Policy Preparation Division in 2001, and Head of Non-Institutional Design Division in 2002.

In 2008 he served as Assistant Deputy for Economic Institutions at the Ministry of PANRB, then in 2009 as Assistant Deputy for Economic Institution I and Assistant Deputy for Institutional Policy Formulation in 2010.

His career continued to climb, until 2011 as Assistant Minister of PANRB for Law, Deputy for Institutional Affairs in 2012 and Deputy for Institutional and Laksana Management in 2013.

He has served as Secretary of the Ministry of PANRB since 2022 under the leadership of PANRB Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas.

Meutya Hafid was elected Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs replacing Budi Arie Setiadi, who previously served as Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) in the Jokowi era.

Meutya served as Chair of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2019-2024 period and came from the electoral district of North Sumatra I. Woman from Bandung, West Java, was re-elected as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the period 2024-2029 in the same electoral district.

He had a long experience as a television journalist and his name became known to the public after a 2005 hostage-taking incident with a Metro TV cameraman.

As a politician, Meutya plays an important role in increasing women's representation in parliament and fighting for gender issues.
