15 World's Famous Destinations With Worst Air Quality

JAKARTA - A new study reveals a number of well-known destinations from around the world that can have poor air quality. This could endanger health for people visiting a number of these popular destinations.

According to experts at the QR Code Generator who have observed the global Google search trend over the past year to determine the results.

The team researched the most searched vacation spots in the US and Europe and assessed the air quality scores for each destination. The worse the air quality of a city, the higher the score.

Therefore, the city received more than 100,000 average monthly searches and the highest air quality scores determined its ranking.

Paris occupies the top spot, with an air quality score of 66. The French capital received 185,633 monthly searches for holidays in the city, although traffic causes extreme pollution levels in the region.

In second place is Chicago, with a score of 58 for its air quality. Chicago O'Hare International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the United States, which contributes to destructive pollution in the city. But the city still appeals to visitors, as it acquires 130,968 monthly searches on average.

Benidorm is in third place, with an air quality score of 57. This Spanish destination is another city hit by traffic pollution, but this does not prevent tourists from producing 101,775 monthly searches on average for holidays in Benidorm.

Followed, Barcelona are in fourth place, with a score of 56 for its air quality. Traffic in the Spanish city has caused poor air quality, but Barcelona still accepts 114,431 monthly average searches for city holidays.

In fifth place is Amsterdam, with an air quality score of 55. A total of 202,893 monthly searches were carried out on average for city vacations in Amsterdam, although traffic in the area and the international shipping industry caused dangerous air quality.
