A Teen Drama That Is Adapted From Wattpad Which Has Been Read More Than 18.5 Million Times, 'The Other Side' Enters Production Stage

JAKARTA - The COVID-19 pandemic is indeed difficult. But that doesn't mean filmmakers stop working. Lingkar Film, for example, is preparing a teenage drama genre film titled The Other Side.

This film is adapted from the bestselling novel by Alya Ranti on Wattpad which has been read more than 18.5 million times.

The Other Side was produced by Ahmad Rifai who is a well-known Indonesian lawyer. As for the director, Girry Pratama, who previously worked on Mangga Muda, Kain Kafan Hitam, and several other films.

Girry Pratama saw that the enthusiasm of the readers of The Other Side was extraordinary.

"Because the readers are extraordinary. I read the aspect of the story is also good because it tells a teen drama. That's why I chose a number of young actors too, there are some who already have names and seniors will also play in this film", said Girry Pratama in written statement received by VOI editorial team, Friday, April 2.

In a ceremony ahead of the shooting process of the film in the Kemang area of South Jakarta, last Thursday, a number of the actors kept their roles a secret. Girry wants to surprise the fans.

"I keep it a secret so they can follow because they often see who is playing, they finally like it. I want to create a feeling of love for the novel first", explained Girry Pratama.

Currently, The Other Side is entering its early stages of production. This film features actors and actresses such as Davina Karamoy, Pamela Bowie, Amel Carla, Sandy Pradana, Rizky Fachrel, and Bryan Andrew.

Then, there are also names like Cathy Fakandi, Emyr, Syakir Daulay, Marcelino Lefrantd, Cut mini, and Wulan Guritno.
