JAKARTA - Director of Sabrina Rochelle Kalangie presents his latest film, Home Sweet Loan. The film, which is adapted from a novel of the same name by Almira Bastari, tells the story of the struggle of millennial workers to achieve their dreams.

Feeling connected to the story, Sabrina shows the reality of a worker's life in the film. Starting from the choice of songs to the production set that supports the story.

"One thing I think absolutely wants to convey is a life that is honest. Maybe not cinematic, reluctant to talk about but I want to put everything at this point," said Sabrina Rochelle Kalangie at a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday, September 18.

Home Sweet Loan tells of Kaluna (Yunita Siregar) who wants to own her own home. He faces challenges when his family needs him financially while he struggles to save for his dream home.

The story about life does not escape the challenges. Sabrina had to take scenes from workers in the bus stop area and station.

"To be honest, there are many techniques because they show the world everything. (The scene) on the dining table is because we have a lot of emotions to show. It's the most difficult to shoot at the Tebet Bus Stop on weekdays. We want to capture the essence of workers in Jakarta, so filming at peak hour when we go home, we are only given one day," said Sabrina.

As the filmmaker, Sabrina feels the same as the story she wrote to share with the audience. He believes the story in this film can be felt by the audience.

"Hopefully this film will not only be entertainment but a life partner to live it," said Sabrina Rochelle.

The Home Sweet Loan film will be released in Indonesian cinemas starting September 26, 2024.
