Tyrese Gibson Arrested After Not Paying Children Allowances

JAKARTA - Actor Tyrese Gibson was arrested by the authorities after not fulfilling his responsibility to support his son. He was sued by his ex-wife, Samantha Lee through a trial held on Monday, September 9.

The Fast and Furious star has one child from her marriage to Lee who is named Soraya. Gibson is asked to pay $10,690 or equivalent to Rp165 million every month in April 2023.

Due to negligence in his responsibilities, Tyrese Gibson was sued by Samantha Lee. He was present at the trial in Fulton County, Atlanta to hear the latest information.

Citing TMZ, the judge demanded detention for not paying and ordered Gibson to pay more than 73 thousand US dollars or Rp1.1 billion to avoid imprisonment.

Gibson's lawyer, Tanya Mitchell Graham filed an appeal asking for a postponement of child support obligations. Then, Tyrese Gibson was released from custody for the filing.

Tyrese Gibson is reported to have paid $2,200 since 2022 which is below the amount ordered.

Gibson and Lee got married in 2017 until Lee filed for divorce in 2020. In a statement, they said the separation was a significant moment in their lives.

Apart from Lee, Tyrese Gibson also has a child named Shayla with his ex-wife, Norma Mitchell.
