Supported By The Ministry Of Education And Culture, JAFF Market Presents As A Facilities For Entangled Indonesian Film Ecosystems

JAKARTA - The Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF) will inaugurate the JAFF Market which is an industrial event which is expected to become a hub and a means of networking for all Indonesian film ecosystems.

This event is later expected to be able to encourage the growth and innovation of the film industry in Indonesia. The plan is that the JAFF Market will be held on December 3-5, 2024 at the Jogja Expo Center, Yogyakarta.

"As the largest market in Southeast Asia, the screen industry in Indonesia still does not have a storefront featuring the film industry. JAFF, which was developed with the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture, concluded that JAFF needed a business unit to develop festival events and ensure its sustainability," said Ifa Isfansyah as chairman of the JAFF Market quoted by VOI from a media broadcast, Friday, August 30.

"For this reason, the JAFF Market is present as a marketplace and storefront featuring the film industry," he added.

Although this is the first time it has been held, JAFF Market has received full support from the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture. Mr. Ahmad Mahendra, Director of Film, Music, and Media, expressed his hope, "In the implementation of this first year's JAFF MARKET, we hope to become a collaborative space that can open up great opportunities for filmmakers with stakeholders, especially investors, to meet each other and network," added Ahmad Mahendra.

"Hopefully it will produce quality Indonesian films and get appreciation at international film festivals. Hopefully we can all commit together to continue to advance a better film ecosystem in Indonesia," he continued.

In its first year, JAFF Market presented various programs and activities that could be a means of meeting the entire Indonesian film ecosystem.

In addition, of course, Industry Exhibition, which is a place for showcases that will showcase Indonesia's film potential starting from production, education, distribution, institutions, and all other elements, various programs have been prepared including JAFF Future Project, JAFF Content Market, JAFF Market Partnership Forum, JAFF Market Screening Room, as well as Talent Day and Reel Life Film Camp two programs in collaboration with NETFLIX.

Network Event is also present to open and expand the network of industry players and film ecosystems that are casual and occur outside the JAFF Market working hours.
