Sunwoo THE BOYZ Attacked By Sasaeng, Agency Takes Legal Action

JAKARTA - The K-pop group agency THE BOYZ, IST Entertainment released a new statement that they are taking legal action to demand illegal activities that endanger members.

Recently, one of THE BOYZ members, Sunwoo, was attacked by sasaeng, a term pinned to a stalking person. Sasaeng approached the dormitory where Sunwoo lived so he reported the person to the police.

There have been incidents related to visits to artist private places, such as agency offices, salons, and dormitories, including attending closed events, spreading false rumors, and taking photos and videos of members when arriving at the airport by coercion, following vehicles, and looking for contacts. This action caused mental and material losses to artists and also their families, relatives, and people around them," said IST Entertainment.

On November 9, an incident occurred where sasaeng hid on the emergency ladder and approached Sunwoo THE BOYZ who came out of the escalator and went to the dormitory. Sunwoo felt threatened and immediately reported this to our staff," they explained.

Sasaeng, who was arrested, tried to escape before attacking Sunwoo until he was arrested for a personal attack. Police investigations are currently ongoing.

"Sunwoo and our staff visited the nearest hospital after the incident for examination and treatment. We prioritize the health and stability of our artists by monitoring their health," he said.

We also found tracking devices installed in artist vehicles parked in front of our office and other incidents when our vehicle tires were suddenly damaged by irresponsible people. We have received CCTV and reported this incident to the police," the agency said.

The agency continued that they would continue to monitor cases and collect evidence so that incidents like this do not happen again.

"We want to inform you that we are continuing to collect evidence and review it through legal parties due to violations of our artist. We do not tolerate this process, thank you," he said.

At the same time, THE BOYZ reportedly left IST Entertainment after their contract was completed and were looking for a new agency to resume their activities.
