JAKARTA - Tariq Halilintar was surprised by the person who spread false news about his wife, Aaliyah Massaid, who was accused of being pregnant out of marriage.

For Tariq, the spread of this fake news is very unethical and does not comply with Indonesian culture which adheres to Eastern teachings.

"What I regret the most is why, why make news like that? Then where do you get news like that? Very lack of ethics. Even though we are Indonesians who adhere to eastern culture," said Tariq Halilintar at Polda Metro Jaya, Central Jakarta, Friday, August 30.

Aaliyah added that until now, from the three TikTok and YouTube accounts she reported, no one had apologized directly to her.

"Not yet, that's why we are all doing this," said Aaliyah Massaid.

Aaliyah Massaid's attorney, Sangun Ragahdo, explained that the reported party was still given the opportunity to prove the slander based on the ITE Law.

However, if it turns out that it is not proven, the reported party will be subject to a slander article and face up to 4 years in prison.

"So if we return to the ITE Law, whoever spreads this fake news will be given the opportunity to prove what they spread," said Sangun Ragahdo.

"But if for example it can't, then it will be subject to a slander article, the threat is a sentence of four years in prison," he said.
