JAKARTA - The Watchers supernatural film opens in Indonesian cinemas. This film made the debut of Ishana Shyamalan's director who is the son of M. Night Shyamalan who is also the producer of this film.

The Watchers tells the story of Mina (Dakota Fanning), a woman who wants to become an artist but works in a bird shop. One day, he is assigned to return birds to his habitat in a forest in the Irish region.

Mina, who was traveling alone, found herself in an unaffordable forest. He also couldn't contact anyone and his car was stuck in the mud area so Mina tried to find help.

Mina was shocked when she learned that there was a room in the middle of the forest that had been occupied by three people. However, Mina was afraid after learning of their presence in the room because they were monitored every night.

One of the occupants of the room, How come (Olwen Fouere) explains that there are creatures that monitor their movements every night. Everyone who does not follow the rules does not survive because they will be attacked by these creatures.

The Watchers have a unique premises and concepts, as the mystery side is slowly built. The simplicity of the room in the middle of the forest raises questions about how the story will continue.

The terrible creature in question is also connected to a cultural story that has just been revealed towards the end of the story. The audience is made to guess about how Mina et al survive in the middle of the forest, especially with simple but risky conditions with their hiddenness.

However, that intensity was only felt in the middle to the end, because we just found out who the terrible creature was.

Ishana seems to want to follow in his father's footsteps in telling the story, because there are many layered twists planted at the end. For a directorial debut, The Watchers are still interesting to watch.
