Lee Cheol Woo Lovely Runner Denies Being Involved In The Burning Sun Message Group

JAKARTA - The Burning Sun scandal broke out to the public again after the BBC documentary was released recently. The documentary contains an investigation into the Burning Sun case that dragged a number of public figures' names.

Among a number of names, one of the highlights is Lee Cheol Woo. In a 2019 report, Lee Cheol Woo was named the only model to enter a message group containing sex video content sent by Jung Joon Young and others.

At that time, Lee Cheol Woo was more active as a model but his name has never been highlighted until recently when he was known through the Korean drama Lovely Runner.

In the drama Lovely Runner, Lee Cheol Woo plays Kim Hyung Gu, Ryu Sun Jae's rival (played by Byun Woo Seok) in swimming.

Lee Cheol Woo and his agency released a statement that he was not involved with the message group. His name is in the group because he is part of a variety show.

"According to my agency's statement, I want to re-explain that I am not part of the message group. The message group that included me in the scandal was for a variety event on JTBC 2016, Hit Maker," said Lee Cheol Woo.

At that time, the message group was used to communicate our schedule and information about the program. "We didn't write a personal message but the message group was deleted after the variety event was canceled," he said.

Lee Cheol Woo admitted that the rumors had a huge impact on his family. Over the years, he admitted that he continued to experience bullying because of the speculation.

My family, my colleagues, and I have had misinformation for years. We ask you to stop false speculation," said Lee Cheol Woo.

"We will respond to criminal comments with legal demands," concluded the actor.

According to MBC reports, the people who were in the message group containing the sex content were Seungri, former BIGBANG, Jung Joon Young, Roy Kim, Kangin, Lee Jong Hyun, Yong Jun Hyung ex BEAST, Jung Jin Woon 2AM, Choi Jong Hoon ex FT ISLAND, Eddy Kim, and Lee Cheol Woo.
