YOGYAKARTA BPJS Health 1, 2, and 3 contributions will be removed next year. Instead, the government will implement the National Health Insurance Standard Inpatient Class (KRIS JKN) or standard classes in all hospitals. So, what are the complete rules for the KRIS to replace BPJS class 1,2,3?

The complete rules for KRIS to replace BPJS Kesehatan 1, 2, and 3 classes are contained in Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 59 of 2024 concerning the Third Amendment to Presidential Regulation Number 82 of 2018 concerning Health Insurance.

In this regulation, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) requires the implementation of the KRIS no later than June 30, 2025.

"The implementation of treatment room facilities for inpatient services based on standard hospitalization classes is carried out thoroughly for hospitals in collaboration with BPJS Kesehatan no later than June 30, 2025," read article 103B paragraph (1) of the regulation signed by Jokowi on May 8, quoted by VOI.

Before this standard Presidential Regulation of inpatient services is carried out thoroughly, hospitals can hold part or all hospitalization services based on the KRIS in accordance with the hospital's own capabilities.

If the hospital has implemented treatment room facilities for inpatient services based on KRIS JKN before June 30, 2025, the payment of tariffs by BPJS Kesehatan is carried out according to hospital inpatient class rates which are the rights of participants in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.

Regarding the implementation of KRIS, there are 12 room criteria that must be obtained by BPJS patients when hospitalized.
