JAKARTA - A new horror film entitled Life Revocation Night will be shown in theaters starting May 22. The film by director Sidharta Tata ni tells the story of Respati (Devano Danendra), who often experiences sleep disturbances because he is haunted by nightmares.

Film teaser footage shows Respati finding her sleep disorders getting even more scary when one of her nightmares occurs in real life.

The respati was then told that he could enter the realm of dreams with full awareness and that ability made him the target of a mysterious, life-threatening spirit.

Sidharta said the horror film will provide a visual experience that is different from other Indonesian horror films.

"This time I want to present a horror film that has a strong and tense story narrative. The scenes inside will be full of excitement and tension accompanied by complex techniques," he said as quoted in a film studio press release on Tuesday, April 23.

The film Night Revocation of Life was made with inspiration from the novel by Ragil JP entitled Respati. The screenplay was written by Ambaridzki Ramadhantyo with Sidharta Tata.

Devano Danendra, Keisya Levronka, Mikha Hernan, comedian Fajar Nugra, Ratu Felisha, Budi Ros, and Kiki Narendra played a role in the horror film.

"The horror film is very close to the Indonesian people. Especially recently where more quality horror films were born by Indonesian filmmakers. Through the film Night Revocation of Lives, BASE tries to provide new variations in Indonesia's horror cinema," said Shanty Harmayn, producer at BASE Entertainment.
