JAKARTA - K-pop group HIGHLIGHT has copyrighted the use of the name of their previous group, BEAST. This good news was shared by Around Us Entertainment as the group's agency.

"We reached an agreement regarding the use of BEAST," said Around Us Entertainment today, Tuesday, April 2.

Apart from that, they will continue to be promoted by using the HIGHLIGHT group in their promotional activities. The agency also explained that they got the right to use the name as a gift to fans.

"However, it feels new to use the BEAST name for the group name. We hope this will be a meaningful gift for HIGHLIGHT fans on the 15th anniversary of their debut," the agency said.

They then released a teaser video entitled Lights Go On, Again which shows the transition from BEAST's debut date to HIGHLIGHT. The video ends with the name HIGHLIGHT x BEAST which will meet from 10 to 12 May.

HIGHLIGHT consists of Dojoon, Yoseob, Gi Kwang, and Dong Woon previously debuted as the BEAST group in October 2009. They established themselves as one of the second-generation K-pop groups to be popular with various hits.

After their contract with CUBE Entertainment ended in February 2017, they chose to leave CUBE and give birth to a new agency called Around Us Entertainment. When they left, it turned out that CUBE did not relinquish the right to use names to all members.

As a result, they cannot promote using the name BEAST and rebranding the group name to HIGHLIGHT. Until now they are promoting with HIGHLIGHT.

HIGHLIGHT has just released their fifth mini album, SWITCH ON with the main track titled BODY.
