JAKARTA - Indonesian artist Ruy Iskandar managed to penetrate the Hollywood film industry by playing in the Avatar series: The Last Airbender as Lieutenant Lee.

Not without reason, Ruy said the reason he chose to work in Hollywood was because he was not well received by the film industry in Indonesia.

"I've always been in school here, I fell in love with acting here. But I think the industry is a little different here," said Ruy Iskandar as quoted by VOI from the @lambegosiip account, Thursday, March 7.

He did not know the clear reason why he was rejected in Indonesian cinema. Ruy felt that this might be due to the shape of his face or even that his mouth was too big.

"I'm not accepted here, I don't know why, his face is different. Maybe my mouth is too big, I see. I don't know what," he added.

Seeing that he could not continue his career in Indonesian acting, Ruy finally decided to work in New York.

"No one wants to. It doesn't sell here. Finally to New York," he added.
