Examined By Investigators, School Confirms Dante Is Not Confident When Swimming

JAKARTA - The case of the death of Dante, the son of artist Tamara Tyasmara, involved various parties as witnesses for questioning. One of the witnesses summoned by the investigators was the Chairman of the Janitra Bina Manusa School Foundation & Parents Relations, Wani Siregar, where Dante attended school.

Wani tried to explain the statement from the school which said that Dante could not swim. He said that he still conveyed the information to the investigators and nothing changed.

"Yes, thank God, I have explained everything to investigators and I have also explained to media friends, so nothing has changed," said Wani Siregar at Polda Metro Jaya, Wednesday, February 21.

He said again that Dante did not seem confident when doing swimming activities that were indeed at his school.

"Just like yesterday, yes, we should if it's about Dante that he's not confident (to swim)," he continued.

However, Wani could not explain specifically about Dante's feelings for swimming activities, including fear. The reason is, during swimming activities at school, students are not accompanied by their parents.

So according to Wani, it is normal for Dante to look anxious when doing swimming activities while at school.

"We just facilitate it, a child the same age Dante must have wanted to swim and it wasn't his parents who were worried," continued Wani.

"So I can't talk specifically about Dante being afraid or what, but the reaction is normal, like children in the beginning when swimming, not with parents who accompany them when swimming," he added.

This lack of confidence has been seen since Dante's initial swimming activities, but Wani explained that there was a process at Dante at every swimming activity meeting.

"All processes, from the start we taught too. From the start (not confident) but in the process," said Wani.
