Alienoid Film Review: Return To The Future: Save The Future From The Past

JAKARTA - Two years ago, director Choi Dong Hoon presented a sci-fi film entitled Alienoid starring well-known South Korean actors. Finally, the hanging made the continuation highly anticipated and it was fulfilled through Alienoid: Return to the Future.

Still played by the previous players, Alienoid 2 continues the previous story. Therefore, it is highly recommended to watch the first film in order to find out the conflicts that exist in the present and future.

Alienoid: Return to the Future continues the story with Lee Ahn (Kim Tae Ri) who received the Guidance and wants to prepare to return to Goryeo's time. However, his intentions were hindered after Controllers (So Ji Sub) and Jajang (Kim Eui Sung) managed to invade Earth.

Mureok (Ryu Jun Yeol) tries to help Lee Ahn but also his figure is being chased by those looking for the Holy Bar. On Earth, Min Gae In ( proceed Lee) began to guess what is happening to the world today.

The divine bill that is believed to save the world is also a controlling pursuit and those who intend to destroy time.

When they started watching Alienoid 2, there were concerns about whether we could understand the storyline. The reason is, considering this is a sequel, of course they will continue the story and references that occurred in their first film.

Choi Dong Hoon seems to understand the unrest, as a result, there was a little recap from the first film about the main conflicts faced by Lee Ahn, Mureok, and Thunder (Kim Woo Bin). But of course, it would be better to watch the first film so that you can understand the concepts of character and its sub-plots.

Alienoid 2 seems to be dissulating the acting of each character, especially on Kim Tae Ri who plays Lee Ahn. He displayed drastic emotional changes in an instant and those were important moments.

The comedy part was handed over to Mureok with his hilarious action combined with the twin top witch who said the slope (Yum Jung Ah and Jo Woo Jin). The three of them appeared communal which made the audience laugh successfully.

With so many characters, it has been confirmed that the story related to the timeline will be even more extended. Even the extraordinary presence of Nong Pa (Jin Seo Kyu) is only an addition to the conflict of the Holy Bar, even though the story of Nong Pa has the potential to be developed.

The time transition, the chase, and the fight between characters are interesting to follow. The last fight, which was highlighted remarkably, also added to the escalation point. This film is a fun sequel and saves the story.

There is no doubt that Alienoid's film is increasing the South Korean film industry, which dares to explore the sci-fi genre, is rising.

Meanwhile, the film Alienoid 2: Return to the Future can be seen in theaters starting today, Wednesday, January 24, 2024.
