JAKARTA - Not Friends is a Thai film that will soon be released in Indonesia. This film is directed by Atta Hemwadee in his big screen directing debut.

This film is Thailand's representative in the International Feature category at the 2024 Academy Award. The film produced by GDH brings together Anthony Buisseret and Thitiya Jiraponsilp in their second film after debuting in the film You & Me & Me in 2023.

The film Not Friends is a group of high school students who are determined to make short films based on the life story of their friends.

Pae (Anthony Buisseret) is worried about his future. On the one hand, he wants to study film on the other hand he is asked to help his father take care of his business. One day, a senior comes to their school and announces a short film competition that has prizes for entering a university without an exam.

Pae's thoughts began to brighten when he intended to make a film about his late compatriot, Joe (Pisitpol Ekappalyt) who had just died.

Pae himself doesn't really think of Joe as a friend, but seeing how Joe is easily forgotten makes Pae want to make his friend's story into a short film.

It didn't stop there, Pae also found a short story that Joe put forward in a contest. Pae began planning to adapt the story into a short film which could later be proposed as part of a short film competition.

One day, Bokeh (Thitiya Jirapornsilp) comes to Pae because he volunteered as a cameraman. Bokeh claimed to be Joe's partner at junior high school so he wanted to be involved in the process of making the film.

The process of making the film was initially going well, until slowly Pae and Bokeh discovered the secret after the secret behind Joe. This made the two begin to change and even questioned their passion for making a film about their best friend.

This film also stars Tanakorn Tiyanont, Fond Natticha, Spy Panachanok, and many others.

Meanwhile, the film Not Friends will air starting January 24, 2024 in Indonesian cinemas.
