YOGYAKARTA According to the Global Peace Index (GPI) report, there are a number of countries that are included in the list of the most peaceful countries in the world 2023. With this list, the public can make one of the countries included in the GPI list as an international tourist destination.

Please note that the Global Peace Index (GPI) is a report made by the Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP). The institution measures the relative position of peace for a country in the world.

Based on a study by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) it is known that in the last 15 years, world conditions have been less peaceful for the 13th time. Studies have also found that the country's average peace has decreased by 0.42 percent in the past year.

The state classification in GPI is based on 23 qualitative and quantitative indicators, all of which are grouped into three main domains, namely continuous conflict, safety and security, and militarization.

In addition, there are also factors that contribute to the lack of peace levels including external conflicts, deaths due to internal conflicts, political instability, and relationships with neighboring countries.

The report also states that the European state is still the most peaceful country in the world. From the list, it is known that there are seven out of ten peace-made countries. But Europe has experienced setbacks in three GPI fields, namely the field of public safety and security, the level of domestic and international conflict is ongoing, and the level of militarization due to the European-Russian conflict. This condition led to a decline in European peace compared to 15 years ago.
