Song Kang Calls Sweet Home 2 A Last Project Before Military Mandatory

JAKARTA - Song Kang confirmed the news that Sweet Home 2 was his last project before he left for military service. He has not announced when he will leave but he does not deny this is the temporary end of his activities.

"Yes (the last project). I will carry out my responsibilities for military service and will return to good and healthy," Song Kang said in a global press conference for Sweet Home 2 today, Thursday, November 30.

"Actually, it's not the last but Sweet Home is the first series to shape my career," recalled Song Kang.

Furthermore, Song Kang revealed that his struggle in the second season was much more tense than his first season. He admitted that he was growing up as an actor when facing the role of Cha Way Soo.

"Hyeon Soo is in a crisis period so he has to save a lot of people, he has to go through the process with himself. I like to joke on set but when the camera starts, I feel like I have to be ready," explained Song Kang.

"When I first became an actor, I was worried about the genre to be played. But I don't believe director Lee (Lee Eung Bok) believes in me, so I want to be better," he said.

I can say Song Kang took pictures ofmy Soo better than the first season. He appeared as an adult man and it touched me," said Lee Eung Bok as the director.

Song Kang also explained that the acting in Sweet Home 2 drains more energy. He was embarrassed to ask the director about his acting and stories.

Continuing her first story, Sweet Home 2 tells the story of Green Home apartment residents including Chahir Soo who fights monsters. In the baseball stage, survivors are determined to live together but they are threatened with monsters outside the stadium and the monster side they live in.

Sweet Home 2 presents a number of new players, namely Jinyoung, Yoo Oh Seong, Kim Moo Yeol, and Oh Jung Se. Besides Song Kang, the players such as Go Min Si, Lee Si Young, Lee Jin Wook, and Park Gyu Young are back.

8 episodes of Sweet Home 2 will be released on Friday, December 1, 2023 on Netflix.
