JAKARTA - Butet Kartaredjasa was discussed after commenting on the decision of the Constitutional Court (Mahkamah Konstitusi) on the registration requirements of the President and Vice President. In an interview, he hoped that the Mayor of Surakarta, Gibran Rakabuming, would not run in the upcoming elections.

He has played more than 10 film titles, some of which include Suitcases, Soegija, Srimulat Findings, Nadas for Asa, Jailangkung, Abracadabra, and Satria Dewa: Gatotkaca last year.

Butet Kartaredjasa also appeared on several television shows that have political and comedy content, including the Republic of Dreams, Sentilan-Sentilun, and Indonesia Kita which were created with Agus Noor and his brother, the late Djaduk Ferianto.

Currently, he is active in his birthplace and has voiced support for the works of various artists several times. When Sherina 2's adventure was released, he attended his premiere and welcomed the arrival of the players in Yogyakarta.

On several occasions, he also expressed his political opinion either through social media or through mass media, including when he asked Gibran Rakabuming not to run for Vice Presidential Candidate (CaWapres).
