Court Rejects FIFTY FIFTY Contract Termination With ATTRAKT Agency

JAKARTA - FIFTY FIFTY's request to terminate an exclusive contract with the ATTRAKT agency was rejected by the court. The Seoul District Court rejected a request for a fourth member after mediation last July.

According to Nate, the court did not find enough evidence to do this. After reviewing the agency's finances, there is no evidence that there is revenue that has not been paid by the company to FIFTY FIFTY.

Previously, FIFTY FIFTY filed a contract termination lawsuit last June. Later, the court conducted mediation between the two parties, but FIFTY FIFTY members rejected mediation action and continued the lawsuit process to trial.

FIFTY FIFTY explained that termination of the contract was necessary because there was no financial transparency and the agency did not maintain the health of the members.

"There is no case where FIFTY FIFTY submitted a correction and the agency did not comply, and there is no case where the agency violated its duties more than once or in a long period of time," the court explained.

Regarding the member's health, the court replied, "After looking at the health issue of Aran FIFTY FIFTY, the agency asked him to be diagnosed. Then they checked and set a promotion schedule and schedule for surgery."

The judge also questioned why FIFTY FIFTY didn't bring this matter to their agency before bringing it to court. If an agency violates the contract, the artist is given a grace period of up to 14 days to notify their agency.

"The group's activities were stopped because of Jung Eun Ah's (Aran) operation, and because several members contracted COVID-19, they each returned to their respective homes," said the judge.

"After that, they suddenly sent a notification to the agency that they were going to terminate their exclusive contract," he continued.

After this decision was released, FIFTY FIFTY said it was likely that they would appeal to the ruling.
