Branded Arrogant Comedian, Denny Cagur: Is That Me?

JAKARTA - The name Denny Cagur was also dragged into the conversation of netizens about arrogant comedians. This stems from a conversation between Uus and Ronal Surapradja who satirized one of the senior comedians who played in the Opera Van Java (OVJ) program.

However, Denny Cagur seemed relaxed in responding to netizens' accusations that it was him who was labeled as an arrogant senior comedian.

In the video uploaded to the TikTok account @candraajiasmara, Denny Cagur can be seen in the room with OVJ producers. They joked about the accusations against Denny that were being discussed.

"There's an arrogant comedian," said someone with a laugh, pointing the camera at Denny Cagur.

"Sir, don't worry about people's careers. Junior wants to develop, sir," he continued.

Denny Cagur also responded with a laugh, as well as the people in the room.

The 45-year-old comedian also asked about the accusations against him. Denny felt that the crew and producers of OVJ also knew that the arrogant comedian in question was not himself, but someone else.

Is that what I mean? I think you know who it is,' said Denny Cagur, greeted by laughter from the people around him.

Denny, who is a guest star on the television program Pagi Pagi Ambyar, also explained the accusations addressed to him. He dared to guarantee that he was always open to his juniors.

"If that's not true, why do we bother. If it's a new comedian, you can check, I always give space and embrace them. I always ask, 'What will you do later?' Because I think communication is important before going on stage, "said Denny Cagur.

"To connect, the program is also funny, not funny personal. That is the importance of a briefing before appearing, so that there is no misunderstanding," he added.

Denny also felt that he did not need to explain what he was like while working and hanging out with fellow comedians. He doesn't want to bother with the speculation made by netizens.

"We don't need to explain who we are to other people. I don't care about people who want to think about me," said Denny Cagur.
