JAKARTA - Sad news has again enveloped the world of Indonesian cinema. One of the senior actors, Ikranagara passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023. The actor's passing was confirmed by writer Innosanto Nagara through his Facebook page. “Condolences. Innalillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Roji'un. Has passed away to Rahmatullah, my beloved husband, father, our beloved datuk: H. Ikranagara at the age of 79 in Bali,” Innosanto Nagara wrote on Monday, March 6, 2023. "Please sincerely pray for the deceased to be forgiven for all his sins and accept all his deeds of worship," he continued. Ikranagara was born in Jembrana, Bali on September 19, 1943. He made his acting debut through a film called “ Breathe in Lumpur ” (1970). Having been vacuumed in the 1990s to the early 2000s, Ikranagara returned to the world of cinema through the film “ Laskar Pelangi ” (2008). No longer young, the actor received a lot of praise thanks to his performance as Hasyim Asy'ari in the film “ Sang Kiai ” (2013). Through his appearance, Ikranagara got something he had never felt in his career, becoming the nominee for Best Male Leading at the Indonesian Film Festival. However, he had to give in to Reza Rahadian who managed to bring home the Citra Cup. Not only on the heavy screen, Ikranagara is also actively playing on the theater stage.
