JAKARTA - The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) team on Tuesday participated in a medical evacuation to the Rafah border, transporting 85 people, including 30 patients and 55 companions.

The World Health Organization (WHO) manages and carries out the evacuation, coordinating with relevant parties, including completing the necessary procedures for patients and their companions to cross the Rafah border.

This operation is part of ongoing efforts to facilitate access to medical care outside the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian media WAFA as quoted on Wednesday (1/7) reported that the evacuation began from the Al-Mawasi field hospital in Khan Younis.

The Red Crescent team received the patients and their companions, provided the necessary logistical and humanitarian support, and helped facilitate their transfer in accordance with the established field procedures.

The operation is part of a sustained humanitarian effort to evacuate patients in need of specialized medical care not available in the Gaza Strip, given the enormous challenges facing the health sector and continuing to burden medical facilities.
