Tips for Teaching Toddlers to Sleep Alone, You Can Start by Putting Your Little One to Sleep in a Crib

JAKARTA - For some parents, they allow their toddlers to continue sleeping together in one room, but there are those who consider this condition unwise to do so. Whatever your decision, there are times when toddlers need to practice sleeping alone in their room. The problem is, there are children who can be independent from an early age, but there are also those who are very dependent on their parents.

The first thing to teach a toddler to sleep alone is to move him into his crib which is right next to your bed. There are cots that slide into an adult bed, so that when the door is open it seems as if your toddler is sleeping next to you.

After the child gets used to it, try moving the crib some distance from your bed.

Accompany your child to sleep by reading a story or singing a lullaby, then walk away. Make sure the crib is locked securely because children this age can climb out of bed.

Get used to the toddler sleeping in his own room during the day so he gets used to the atmosphere of the room. It is better if the child's room is connected to your room through a connecting door.

That way, at any time you can control the toddler if you leave him to sleep alone later

If your child is getting used to sleeping apart from you, move him to his own room. Accompany the child until he falls asleep, then leave

It's not easy to accustom toddlers to sleep alone. There will be days when your child wakes up and calls for you to be with him. Accompany your toddler until they feel comfortable and safe to be able to sleep alone, which can take a long time.
