JAKARTA - Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland has accused ex-wife Carré Callaway of defamation, according to a legal filing obtained by Rolling Stone.

Borland, who also heads the band Big Dumb Face, claimed that Callaway, aka Queen Kwong, was trying to profit by talking about him in an interview.

According to Rolling Stone, citing a 2022 interview Callaway had with Bandcamp Daily, Borland only gave Calloway three days to move out of their Detroit home with a number of street cats when they divorced.

In the interview, Callaway said Daisy "died a week after he (Borland) left because he was the only one who could take care of her".

One song from Callaway's album, Couples Only (2022), entitled The Mourning Song, was written in memory of his disabled cat, Daisy.

Borland's filing also referenced a review in Flood Magaziner, in which the same interview author repeated the claim.

A judge will reportedly hear Borland's petition on Jan. 17, in which Borland asks Callaway "to demonstrate reasons why she must comply with the Court Order [the divorce order]."

Their divorce agreement, which was signed in 2020, states that “neither party may give interviews or make public statements that defame the other party”.

According to court documents, the press statement “deliberately did what was expressly forbidden to Ms Callaway.

"They adversely affected Mr Borland's public image and reputation which he had built over a twenty-plus year career," he continued, adding that it was an attempt to "destroy Mr Borland's outstanding and hard-earned professional reputation."
