JAKARTA - Confession is the latest South Korean film from Lotte Entertainment. This thriller film is an adaptation of a Spanish film entitled Contratimpo or The mainstay Guest. Success with the original version, many countries have flocked to adapt this story. Indonesia is said to be one of the countries that has adapted the original film. But this time, we will focus on the South Korean version of Confession which has been airing since the end of last October in its home country. The film, directed by Yoon Jong Seok, stars a number of well-known actors and actresses. Confession tells of Yoo Min Ho (So Ji Sub), the CEO of a well-known IT company that has a successful life. One day, he is said to be a suspect in the murder of a woman named Se Hee (Nana). Se Hee was found dead in a location not far from Yoo Min Ho. The existence of Se Hee also became a suspicion of Yoo Min Ho. Yoo Min Ho wants to prove that he is not the killer. He was assisted by Yang Shin Ae (Kim Yun Jin), a lawyer who never lost the case he faced. Yang Shin Ae also wanted to help Yoo Min Ho. But all the evidence points to Yoo Min Ho, who made the two of them discuss and wondered if Min Ho was the main mastermind. The plot will remind viewers of classic thrillers. Without much explanation, the audience is presented with various evidences that make us seem to guess the riddle of the case. The story flows well. The narrative presented by Yoo Min Ho and Yang Shin Ae also makes every character gray. Nothing good, but nothing evil. However, the most impressive thing about the film Confession lies in the player. So Ji Sub managed to play a friendly but mysterious character as well as Kim Yun Jin who was full of question marks. Nana, who is the youngest player, does not want to lose. His acting also offsets character and interactions with other actors. That acting is the key to how every character displays their side which once again makes the audience ask questions. In addition, the visuals shown in this film also support the story. Starting from the use of winter as a background for stories, decorations and camera directions to the interaction of Yoo Min Ho and Yang Shin Ae are very slick. Despite its biteless ending, the film Confession still looks interesting with the acting of the main players who are stunning.
