Director Reveals Reasons For Choosing Ethnic Cibeng For Film Cinta 5 Elements

JAKARTA - Cinta 5 Elements is the latest local film in the comedy drama genre. The film is directed by Hendra Marnoto and features Junior Liem and Chilla Kiana.

There is something different about this comedy-drama because they take the Chinese ethnic Chinese Benteng as the main focus. The director mentioned the reason why he chose China Benteng or familiarly called Cibeng.

"This film about Cibeng's life in the Tangerang area is interesting for me to dare to make. Because their lives are unique and different from other ethnic Chinese," said Hendra Marnoto, director of Cinta 5 Elements on Monday, July 4.

"They have mixed very well with any ethnic community, even though many Cibeng here are in a very far below economic line," he explained.

Later, the cultural stories of the Cibeng people will be packaged in a comedy drama format. He wants to show the community side of the Cibeng ethnic group which has not been exposed by the public so far.

"I want to raise there are also you know from Cibeng that can be extraordinary," he said.

Junior Liem as the main character admitted that he was very connected with the story of the film Cinta 5 Elements. He who is of Chinese descent wants to bring Cibeng's character to suit the film.

"The story in this film is also related to me as a person of Chinese descent. And I really tried to bring this Cibeng character to life so that it could match the characters and missions to be conveyed in the film," said Junior Liem.

Besides Liem and Kiana, the film Cinta 5 Elements stars Cut Mini, Marcellino Lefrandt, and Chika Waode. Lingkar Film as the production house has not announced the release date of this film considering that it is still in the production process.
