Prosecutor Demands 25 Years In Prison For Sexual Harassment Case, R Kelly Feels 10 Years Is Enough

JAKARTA - R&B singer R Kelly will be sentenced for exploiting his decades of fame and fortune to lure women and underage girls into sex.

Kelly, 55, was sentenced last September in federal court in Brooklyn, United States, following a trial that strengthens charges that have haunted the I Believe I Can Fly singer since the early 2000s.

Kelly, whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, was one of those convicted of sexual harassment amid the ongoing #MeToo movement. He has repeatedly denied allegations of sexual harassment.

Prosecutors said Kelly should spend more than 25 years in prison, while Kelly's lawyers argued the singer deserved no more than 10 years, the minimum sentence, on the grounds that his past as a child victim of abuse made him hypersexual and he was no longer dangerous.
