JAKARTA - The progressive / technical grindcore troop based in Bandung, DUSX, released their first mini album (EP) titled Toxicious Anthropoid via Disaster Records since October 20, 2020. This album was released in a limited number of tape cassette format, 150 copies.
Toxicious Anthropoid contains 7 songs, one of which is a cover song by the band Keparat Nu Gelo. Their aggressive tracks are full of deadly guitar riffs, extra intense drumming and poisonous vocals.
The recording process for the mini album Toxicious Anthropoid took approximately 1 month, and was executed in several different studios.
"Drums are recorded at Red Studio which is often used by loud musicians in Bandung who are located at Gerlong. Ako's assistance is the process. As for the guitar and vocals, they are recorded at Valhalla Audio Labs through Nana Banana's hand," said DUSX in a written statement.
Looked back a little. DUSX was formed in 2019 by Tommy (former Godless Symptomps guitarist, 2003-2018), Jims Adrian (vocals), and Usenk (drums). This line-up resulted in a single called Beneath The Limb which was released that same year.
Days passed, Cepie from Femau came to replace Usenk in December 2019. Meanwhile, Syafri from Gunblasting entered the position of Jims Adrian five months later.
Three months later, this formation languished in the recording studio to complete the EP Toxicious Anthropoid. There were several groups that influenced DUSX's music during the production of this EP, including Misery Index, Benighted, and Absurdist.
Toxicious Anthropoid is now available in webstores and e-commerce. The plan is for DUSX to carry out several promotional activities for this EP, one of which is the launching of a music video for the song Naked Apes in the near future.
"It's a must to listen to DUSX album, because this is grindcore which is aggressive and fast but still obeying traffic signs," they emphasized.
