JAKARTA - You may have heard of some items sent into space such as toilets or biscuits. This time, a supermarket in the UK, Iceland Foods, sent chicken nuggets into space on October 13.

This fast food delivery commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Iceland Foods supermarket.

"What better way to show our products outside the world than to send our customers' favorite products into space," Andrew Staniland, director of Iceland Foods, told The Irish News.

To deliver food, the company is working with Sent Into Space, a company engaged in shipping into space.

“Chicken nuggets are consistently a popular item on their shelves. In recent years, they have become the largest retailer of chicken nuggets in the UK, ”said a representative for Sent Into Space.

They fly chicken nuggets over rural Wales in gas-filled weather balloons with additional satellite tracking and cameras. The nuggets will pass through Earth's atmosphere at an altitude of 110,000 feet (33.5 km) and float in the Near Space layer.

Near Space is the layer on top of Earth where a person has to wear pressurized clothing in order to survive.

Then the nuggets cross the Outer Space for about 19,000 meters and float in low pressure and then drop to -65 degrees Celsius.

Sent Into Space has also prepared a parachute set up at 62,000 feet to protect the chicken nuggets. Watch the video of Iceland Foods' chicken nuggets journey into space below:
