JAKARTA - Two years on, the annual Jakarta International BNI Java Jazz Festival 2022 is ready to be held. His absence for a year did not prevent them from presenting world-class musicians.

“Our preparations this year are short with the support of sponsors and government support. We can bring in foreign musicians but there are obstacles because they are in conflict with the current tour period," said Dewi Gontha as the President Director of Java Festival Production (JFP) at a press conference on Wednesday, April 20.

Carrying the theme of Blooming Season, this theme coincides with the variety of genres and the Java Jazz festival that is ready to return for music lovers. In addition, they are also open to all parties from the government and sponsors.

The Java Festival Production has announced the first line-up consisting of local and foreign musicians, namely Adikara Fardy, Afgan, Adhitya Sofyan, Andmesh Kamaleng, the ARTI duet (Arsy Widianto - Tiara Andini), Bilal Indrajaya, Candra Darusman feat. DIRA and others.

In the international line-up, Java Jazz presents the winner of the Grammy for Best R&B Album, PJ Morton. The musician, who is also known as the keyboardist for Maroon 5, will visit Jakarta as a soloist for the first time.

"To be honest, we have been trying to get PJ Morton for two years. 2019 can't try, 2020 can't, can only this year. So I am very grateful,” explained Dewi Gontha.

Besides PJ Morton, JFP also presented a number of international musicians, namely Alex Porat, Emma-Jean Thackray, Gabe Bondoc, Hablot Brown, Jarrod Lawson, Samm Henshaw, Dirty Loops, and Jakob Ogawa.

The Java Jazz Festival 2022 is also held with health protocols such as completing vaccines and boosters and getting a green sign with PeduliLindungi.

Different from 2020, this year only Daily Pass for IDR 850,000 and Special Show PJ Morton for IDR 450,000. The Java Jazz Festival 2022 will be held on 27-29 May 2022 at JI EXPO Kemayoran, Jakarta.
