JAKARTA - Director Wregas Bhanuteja presented a surprise. His first feature-length film, Penyalin Cahaya hit Netflix in 2022.

Penyalin Cahaya tells Sur (Shenina Cinnamon) who failed to get a scholarship after her drunken photo went viral. Sur knew the photo was taken at a party with her college friends.

Looking for a way, Sur asks for help from Amin (Chicco Kurniawan), a photocopying employee at the campus who is also Sur's childhood friend. The two try to find the main culprit by hacking into Sur's friends' cell phones.

Even though it hasn't been released yet, Penyalin Cahaya has already won numerous achievements locally and internationally. The film received 17 nominations for the 2021 Indonesian Film Festival with nominations for Best Film, Best Director, Best Script, and others.

In addition, the film competed in the New Currents category at the 2021 Busan International Film Festival.

Penyalin Cahaya is played by various shining young actors and actresses from Shenina Cinnamon, Chicco Kurniawan, Lutesha, Jerome Kurnia, Dea Panendra, Giulio Parengkuan, and Lukman Sardi and Ruth Marini.
