October Month Of World Breast Cancer Awareness, This Is Important To DO SADARI

JAKARTA - October is the World Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is a global movement of various organizations such as WHO, UICC, and the Ministry of Health in various countries. This warning was made to raise awareness regarding the importance of early detection and handling breast cancer.

Breast cancer is currently still one of the highest causes of death for women in the world. With the World Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it is hoped that it will be able to encourage women to carry out regular breast checks.

One of them is by SADARI or checking their own breasts. This examination is useful for detecting cancer from an early age so as to create greater chances of recovery.

The MRCC Radiology Department, dr. Nina ISH Supit, Sp.Rad PRP (K), said that women routinely do SADARI, especially a few days after menstruation.

"SADARI, Check Your Own Breasts. Do it 10 days or 7 days after the menstruari," said Doctor Nina, when met in Semanggi, Jakarta, written on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

To do SADARI, you can use three fingers each hand. The purpose of doing this is to scan or recognize the condition of the breast, not to look for lumps that can be a sign of breast cancer.

"Use three fingers, check. Right hand checks left breast, left hand checks right breast," he said.

"Check, go to scanning. So when you do that, don't focus on looking for lumps, because we've never known what a lump looks like," he added.

By routinely doing SADARI and scanning her own breasts, women can understand the condition of her own breasts. This will make it easier to detect if there is a change in the breasts, so you can immediately check yourself for further treatment.
