JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Pediatrician Association (IDAI), dr. Piprim Basarah Yanuarso, announced shocking news for patients and families who have been dependent on BPJS services at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM).
Through his personal Instagram account, dr. Piprim stated that he can no longer serve child heart patients using BPJS at the hospital.
In his upload, Doctor Piprim explained that his access to treat child heart patients through the BPJS route had been closed. He emphasized that currently it can only serve patients through private services at RSCM Kencana, which of course at a much higher cost.
"With a heavy heart, I announce that starting today I can no longer serve the children of the father/mother who have heart disease at the RSCM, both in PJT and Kiara," said dr. Piprim in his video upload on his Instagram @dr.piprim.
dr. Piprim said that patients who want to be examined through private services at RSCM Kencana must bear a cost of around Rp. 4 million for echo examination, because the service is no longer covered by BPJS.
"So that in order to be able to seek treatment and be examined by echo (jantung), now you have to pay around Rp. 4 million because there is not covered by BPJS," he explained.
dr. Piprim also mentioned the reasons behind this situation. He rejected practices that he said violated the principle of meritocracy against a State Civil Apparatus (ASN), which then had an impact on freezing his account to serve BPJS patients.
"I firmly reject the ways that violate the meritocracy principle of an ASN. As a result, my account is frozen to serve BPJS," he added.
As a result of this condition, dr. Piprim warned that patients who want to be served by him must pay private service rates, which can reach hundreds of millions of rupiah depending on the type of medical action taken.
"This means that the ladies and gentlemen whose children want to be served by me have to pay at a private rate. It could cost hundreds of millions of rupiah," said dr. Piprim.
dr. Piprim said this decision was not at all his wish, but the consequences of the policy set. He admitted that he was very sad because after 28 years of devoteing himself to RSCM, he was no longer able to provide services to BPJS patients.
"As a doctor, who has served at the RSCM for 28 years, of course, it is very difficult for me to no longer be able to serve my sons and daughters, ladies and gentlemen. However, what can be done, this is indeed a provision from the Ministry of Health," he said.
"I understand that this will certainly be very burdensome for ladies and gentlemen, but that is the provision from the Ministry of Health and the Directors of RSCM," wrote dr. Piprim.
Doctor Piprim added that he will take legal action to the State Administrative Court (PTUN) to fight for his rights so that he can return to serve BPJS patients.

"I will still fight for this problem by taking legal action to the Administrative Court. Hopefully in the future there will be the best solution so that I can return to serve the sons and daughters of ladies and gentlemen with BPJS at RSCM," he explained.
At the end of his upload, Doctor Piprim closed with prayers for the health of the patients and hoped that the best solution would be found soon.
"May Allah SWT give health to the sons and daughters of the ladies and gentlemen who experience PJB and remain enthusiastic. Please pray for the best solution from Allah SWT." he concluded.
