"We have held a meeting with the Padang Branch Health BPJS. Currently, technical implementation is being prepared. What is clear is that starting March 5, 2025, all residents with Padang ID cards will receive health insurance," he said in Padang, as quoted by ANTARA.
The statement was made after signing a joint commitment regarding health insurance for Padang City residents with BPJS Kesehatan at City Hall.
Fadly Amran emphasized that the health and education sector is a top priority in his work program with the Deputy Mayor of Padang, Maugus Nasir. He added that these two sectors were also included in Asta Cita Presiden Prabowo Subianto, so that budgeting for the program received full support without being affected by budget efficiency.
"With this push, we moved quickly from the beginning of the government to realize free health insurance for all Padang residents," he said.
This program targets the entire community of Padang City regardless of social status, even though priority is given to underprivileged residents.

However, he emphasized that the Padang City Government would not bear the payment of arrears in health BPJS dues that had not been paid by the participants. Even so, after being included in this program, people who have arrears can still get health services.
Deputy Mayor of Padang, Maugus Nasir, added that with this program, all residents who have a Padang ID card can directly access health services for free, without having to wait for a long administrative process.
"The Padang City Government will assist the BPJS Health membership registration process. In essence, the public does not need to worry, they can immediately receive services from available health facilities," he said.
The head of the Padang City Health Office, Srikurnia Yati, stated that this health insurance program received full support from various health facilities in collaboration with BPJS Kesehatan.
"A total of 27 hospitals, 24 health centers, and 90 clinics have expressed their readiness to support this program," he said.
