Kemenduk Proud To Perform KB Services In Traditional Markets

JAKARTA - "According to President Prabowo's direction to avoid ceremonial activities but focus on activities that have a direct impact on the community, current KB service activities, with the presence of KB service cars in the middle of the traditional market, Plered District, the public can directly access the KB MKJP (Long-Term Contraception Method) services such as Implants and IUD"

This was conveyed by the Deputy Minister of Population and Family Development/Deputy Head of the National Population and Family Planning Agency, Ratu Ayu Isyana Bagoes Oka, during a direct review of KB Services at the Traditional Market, Plered District, Purwakarta Regency, West Java Province, on Wednesday (26/02/2025).

"If you look at the current birth rate, it is the ideal number, which is 2.1, but we have to maintain it, especially since each region has a different number, there are lower ones, there are higher ones, there cannot be one policy for all regions, each region has its own uniqueness," continued Deputy Minister Isyana.

Deputy Minister Isyana also said during an interview that the simultaneous KB service activities in traditional markets were carried out in 34 provinces with a minimum of 1 (one) Traditional Market in each district/city with a target of at least 50 acceptors for each point and priority for KB MKJP services.

The forms of activities carried out include promotion of reproductive health through KIE (Information and Education Communication) in groups/personality to PUS carried out by KB extension workers, male KB motivators or health workers, as well as socializing reproductive health to market/trader/community (PUS and WUS) visitors and other traditional market workers.

As for KB services, especially MKJP which can be carried out using the KB service unit car (Muyan KB), the mobile health center (twisted) or health care facilities (fasyankes) closest to the market.

The hope after the implementation of this activity is an increase in public knowledge and awareness of the importance of the Family Planning and Health Reproduction program as well as the participation of the MKJP KB.

Direct Distribution Of Free Nutrition Food (MBG) To Target Families

Before monitoring the implementation of KB Service activities at Muyan KB (KB Service Senti Car), Deputy Minister Isyana first distributed MBG to the target family and held a dialogue with the manager of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) in Purwakarta District, Purwakarta Regency, West Java.

The target family visited directly by Wamen Isyana in Purwakarta District is pregnant woman Siti Sarah (39 years old) with an 8 month gestational age, then Nur Komariah's breastfeeding mother (40 years old) who has a 2-month-old child and breastfeeding mother Ani Mulyani (34 years old) who also has a 2-month-old child.

Wamen Isyana explained that the most important thing is that the nutrition of pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and toddlers can be fulfilled, because the First 1000 Days of Life is a crucial period to prevent stunting.
