JAKARTA - Minister of Population and Family Development (Kemendukbangga), Dr. H. Wihaji, S.Ag, M.Pd conducted a number of reviews and hearings in Central Java. While visiting Boyolali Regency, the group visited the Bina Keluarga Lansia 'SEJAHTERA'. Namely the family activity group that has the elderly, in Dohonu Village and Ngemplak District.

The Prosperous Elderly Family Development (BKL) was assisted by KB extensions from Ngemplak District along with cross-sector Ngemplak District, consisting of 8 BKL administrators and 57 members.

"Lansia Empowered, what is Mr. Wihaji, so that means seniors (elderly) stay healthy. What activities, the important thing is happy. Because the problem of the elderly is one, lonely," said Wihaji in an official statement received by VOI.

This visit is in line with the quickwins program of the Ministry of Elderly Empowered, which is a program that prepares the elderly to be tough, and has the value of benefit in their old age.

Apart from the elderly, there is also a specific program targeting child care in urban areas, TAMASYA Taman Asuh Sayang Anak. In this case, Minister Wihaji visited the Ngaru Aru Motherland Care Center, Ngaru Aru Village, Banyudono District, Boyolali Regency.

"Today we visited one of the child care places which I think is an extraordinary example. Why is this a Ministry program because we give hope, one of which is so that parents can also work, but children are still cared for and cared for. So it must be ensured that the government is present," said Wihaji.

"Paman Asuh Sayang Anak (Tamasya) is not limited to being a children's storage space. More than that, Tamasya becomes a love room for the 'bunda' who care for children in a place to care for children. Don't let there be problems. Ensure your health, ensure your food, ensure cleanliness and if there is anything, for example, illness must be coordinated quickly, treated immediately," said Wihaji.

From the child care park, it continues to Sambi Village, Boyolali Regency to monitor the process of the Foster Parent Movement to Prevent Stunting (Genting) in the field. Together with the Head of the Central Java Ministry of Education and Culture/BKKBN Representative, the Head of the Central Java DP3AP2KB, members of the Central Java DPRD, all carried out direct monitoring of how the Genting process was carried out, including visiting family groups at risk of stunting.

"There is a program called our Genting Program, which is an acronym for the Foster Parent Movement to Prevent Stunting. This program is aimed at Families of Stunting Risks (KRS), families who in the First 1000 Days of Life, have the potential for stunting risk," said wihaji.

The problem of stunting is still an episode of the length of health problems in Indonesia. Children with stunting are usually characterized by very short height that exceeds the deficit under the median length or height based on age in Boyolali. Minister Wihaji had the opportunity to review and have direct dialogue with pregnant women, and families who have children under two years old (baduta).

Based on SSGI data in 2023, the stunting prevalence rate in Indonesia is 21.5%. This means that out of 5 children, there is 1 child who is at risk of stunting. According to Bapenas, the stunting rate reduction target is 18% and currently, there are 34,000 Genting foster children in Indonesia, from the target of 1 million foster children. For Boyolali Regency alone, there are already 8 Genting foster children. We emphasize here that helping one child at risk of stunting is much better than not at all," concluded Minister Wihaji.

Not to forget the Family Assistance Team (TPK), at the Boyolali Regency Hall with the Deputy Regent, a number of warm jokes were presented to build the atmosphere. Wihaji advised that the family became the initial foundation in forming the Indonesian Golden Generation.

"I often say that in some key speeches it is in the family, if our family is fine, God willing, it will be fine. So we finish it from the family itself," he said.

According to Wihaji, the role of the family is crucial in the process of developing the next generation of gold. The younger generation today is the generation of 20 years later will become the leaders of the new nation, replacing the current and previous generations. In addition to meeting with TPK cadres, during the one-day visit, the minister who was born in Sragen also met teenagers from the Central Java GenRe and Boyolali Forums. Hearing and having a dialogue about what GenRe teenagers are doing, how GenRe contributes to every role in society as a planning generation.

Minister Wihaji conveyed his views on how GenRe can be different from other NGOs. "Disband the activity virus related to Indonesia's future generations. GenRe must be different from other NGOs, so in my opinion, I have to make programs related to Indonesia's golden generation," he said.

Towards dusk accompanied by heavy rain in the Boyolali sky, the journey continued to the Ngemplak District Hajj Dormitory to meet IPeKB cadres (State Family Planning Extension Ceremony) Central Java. "The task of our ministry is only two. The issue of population, which is essentially TFR, is now 2.1. Because with the balanced growth of our population, God willing, in the future our economy will be good. And this is important. Why is the agency (BKKBN) now being used as a ministry, because population matters are serious matters. If you don't pay attention to the dangers of future generations, "said Wihaji.
