JAKARTA For a whole month, from November 1 to 30, 2025, the Special Region of Yogyakarta will host the Jogja Cultural Wellness Festival (JCWF). This event presents a series of activities that combine elements of healing the body, mind, and soul, involving various local communities.

"We are a community-based festival, which was born based on Javanese wisdom or the local wisdom of the tradition that we have this year with the theme Wiroso, Wiromo, Wirogo," said Chairman of the JCWF Committee, Gusti Kanjeng Ratu (GKR) Bendara at a press conference

This festival offers five workshop categories, each of which can be followed by a ticket of IDR 500 thousand for full day access. The participant capacity varies, ranging from 500 to 2,000 people per class.

Some of the themes presented include:

Healthy Food and Herbals learn to mix herbal and herbal medicine, as well as enjoy lunch together.

Eco-Friendly Living demonstrations of a sustainable lifestyle, discussion of renewable energy, and community sustainability.

Spiritual Wellness and Energy Healing meditation, cultural rituals, and discussion sessions on spirituality.

Natural Beauty, Family and Inner Child natural skin care, family yoga, and traditional healing rituals.

Harmony in Wellness is a healing session combined with musical, artistic, and cultural performances as a cover.

"Here we provide a room for healing families or inner children through art as well as traditional activities. We work together a lot with psychologists on how we millennials can recover from our wounds in healing when we were little there was trauma and so on," explained GKR Bendara.

In addition to presenting a unique experience, JCWF also strengthens the fitness tourism ecosystem in Yogyakarta. GKR Bendara said that the wellness industry in this area is growing thanks to the support of tourism actors, from hotels to local communities. Many of them are actively organizing small activities around meditation, healthy food, to the practice of living in harmony with nature.

Travelers, communities, local governments, and travel agents are now collaborating with each other to introduce the authenticity and wealth of Yogyakarta fitness tourism to a wider level.

"Of course the government is also (involved), because the ecosystem is from industry and also from the government. Local governments have also started working together on how to promote this wellness in larger cinemas," he added.
